Taiwan housing typology

P3-3

The diagram shows the development of housing types in Taiwan. Starting with courtyard house and street house, which both last for hundreds years, more derivatives were developed later with social changes.

Green arrow lines trace appreciated features kept time after time, such as courtyard space and skywell. Red arrow lines indicate certain features inherited from the previous variation. Black arrow lines are about physical adaptations.
